 | IIG New President Letter 5-28-07 Hello Fellow Inventors: I am proud to have been selected as the new president of our club. I have been involved for less than a year but have a good relationship with our outgoing president. We must all thank Mike for his contributions to the club and the mark he has made in the inventing world. Here is a little bit about me- I am currently owner of Flat-D Innovations, a personal care products manufacturer and marketer. We have one patented product and have developed other complimentary products from that one item. www.flat-d.com is our website. I have taken many products from an idea to a marketed product. Isn’t that the goal of our inventing, to capitalize on our ideas??? I hope to help others get their products to market. I look at myself as more of a manager of the club. It is OUR club, not my club. It is up to all of us to get the most we can out of it. You get out of the club what you put into it. I need your help. I need you to volunteer and help in the following areas- VP of Membership VP of Finance VP of Website VP of Marketing VP of Communications If we break down these common functions of a club then it will be more manageable for all of us. We will get more out of the club. Please contact me and get involved. I would like to have a meeting in Cedar Rapids in June at our new location. Family Merchants Bank 600 Boyson Rd NE Cedar Rapids, IA (Near C Ave.) We may rotate meetings around (Waterloo and Iowa City) but would like to centralize in Cedar Rapids. We may only send out one more hard copy newsletter. It takes a lot of time and money to keep this going. We will be going paperless and sending electronic communications in the future. Those without email will be able to call the phone number to get the latest information. Check out the new website with all the contact information. Phone, address, email. We have a message on the club phone number where I will note the next meeting date and information. Dues will be increased to $30 per year. We have some operating costs and need this to cover the costs. Please send in your dues now by June 30. They will be good for 1 year membership. This will keep you on the mailing list and informed on the latest happenings. We will try to keep our club an Inventors Only club. Not for bankers and insurance people. Frank Morosky President |

Iowa Inventors Group has reached a new plateau. As I step aside, we have new leadership and another new beginning. At our May meeting the board elected our new president; Frank Morosky. Congratulations Frank and much success... Frank is from the Cedar Rapids area and is a true innovator in his own right. Presently he is the President and owner of Flat-D and is working on many other new and innovative concepts for the marketplace. One of his products was even highlighted and televised on the American Inventor show. Now that is marketing…
Just a few years ago I pondered the passion that drove me to inventing. A spirit or quest, that constantly pulled me to the realms of innovation. I had many questions with few answers. Information enlisted was confusing and certainly without another set of questions on what’s my next direction! This drive is true within all of us. We come up a better mousetrap and not only want to share it with the world; we know in our heart the world needs it. As idea people we also want to make the best decisions on our quest for success. In essence this was the primal beginning of IIG. A few others and I realized that as a group and sharing platform: knowledge equaled probable success.
From our beginnings to the end of my nearly 3 year tenure I would like to offer my humble thanks to all whom helped in our success. IIG started from nothing more then an idea to a young and new group to help others through resources and networking. I believe we have assisted many of us in some form or another. Many that attended our first meetings exposed their personal financial sacrifices how dishonest invention firms had one goal in mind, take our monies & run. . On that note, if our group has prevented and/or educated only one member or associate from this practice common in our industry then we succeeded. We succeeded beyond recourse.
As mentioned before I am very grateful to those who have joined and helped in our group. We made progress however still have much further to go. Under Franks new leadership I foresee continued growth and further dissemination of valuable resources and information. Within the next few months I will recap the highlights and areas the invention process taught me. I will also give my own opinion on what directions needs further scrutiny and possible change.
Thank you all for the opportunity to start and run the group. I have met and made many new friendships and business relationships. I wish you all success personally and financially with your innovations. Lets all give Frank the support to keep our group a viable resource for all. Hope to see everyone at the next meeting, which I believe will be in Cedar Rapids in June. Thanks again.
